I have been to a few of these self help pep talk type seminars in my time and the one common denominator they all have is to celebrate achievements no matter their size or significance. I realised this importance when setting personal goals or managing staff to ensure good moral through hard times.
This website is in itself a wonderful achievement with so much work done every week for its maintenance and construction by Tim Baker who tirelessly volunteers his time and expertise. The videoing and photographing of my many travels and antics have too many cinematographers to count (and they would't want to be named for fear of getting work in their hidden talent). Also the contributions of so many people that comment on the guestbook and the blogs as well as my facebook page who keep me enthused and abreast of issues.
I so often hear people complain to me about being taxed to the hilt....maybe I'm just someone who has written on his forehead 'talk to me about your problems' but it is something that I don't really get.
When I was a kid I would often fall in a heap crying after spending all my day from the moment I was dropped in the paddock with my water bottle to the moment many hours later when I was retrieved from picking oats and turnips from our seed wheat plots.
You see seed wheat can not have any other weeds and at the time my father was totally against the use of chemicals following bad experiences with them in the high rainfall area of far south east WA ... so it was done by hand. In typical 'hard work builds character' fashion my dad didn't have garden sized areas of seed wheat, he had hundreds upon hundreds of acres, and thanks to his organic principles the weeds were prolific and all needed to be removed by hand.
Today a rather large mob of bullshit artists got together to listen to each other speak shit.
Yes I started this blog off in a vulgar manner but really there is no other way to explain what the likes of Bob Katter Ind. MP, John Murphy Lab. MP, Jim Wallace from Aust. Christian Lobby, and Senators Barnaby Joyce Nat. and John Madigan DLP came out with today in Parliaments Great Hall in Canberra at a 'Marriage Day' rally.
Tonight SBS served up an interesting episode of 'Insight-the beauty race'. The focus on the show was on people who have changed the look of themselves and in the usual vein of shows with anything to do with race those participants who were deemed to be trying to look european were criticised and those who did it to 'fit in' were critical of their racial heritage as the reason they were bullied by causasian Australians.
