Like so many around the world I breathed a sigh of relief today when the US House of Reps Passed a Bill today avoiding the worlds biggest economy from defaulting on its massive debts most of which have been accumulated whilst resuscitating the US economy following the failure of the Sub Prime Debt Market.

What amazed me the most about this saga was not that the US established parties seem more obsessed with point scoring and ideology than they do about ensuring the world does not plunge into a new financial crisis, but the presence of Gabrielle Giffords in the Chamber. Gunned down in her home State of Arizona, this wife of an Astronaut mirrors the USA itself in its ability to resurrect itself and despite itself, rise to the occasion.

I am in Awe of her as a survivor just as I am in awe of the United States, what an incredible woman what an incredible country.
