Today, like any other day, started with plans ahoy…then I got out of bed.
Being on the farm doesn’t mean I am not still attending to all the needs of my other interests… So after getting through as much as I could, I headed out around the farm to empty and clean all the water troughs and check the ewes that started lambing a few days ago. There were little pure white Dorper lambs everywhere as I wondered through the mobs to ensure there were no problems. It was as though the ground was moving….with the babies coming out of the tall grass to investigate what their mothers were stirring from.
Where would we be without mothers…stupid question if you think about it literally. Seriously, after the screams and the one time that your mother probably did swear… probably as your Dad sat by the maternity bed with the ‘it can’t be that painful’ look on his face…mothers are there for us, every step of the way.
Here is something that made my day much better than when I got up…and a few other things went wrong…such as having a mob of sheep attacked by bloody dingoes. Hope it takes your mind off any similar annoyances and puts a smile on your face too…
A cabbie picks up a nun..
She gets into the cab, and notices that the VERY handsome cab driver won’t stop staring at her.
I read with interest the latest crock coming from the Catholic Church, which has followed on from so many commentators in the media calling on TV shows that they disagree with to be taken of the air.
Once again we are heading into winter with bleak prospects of rain and almost zero soil moisture…I’m just glad that I was too broke to invest in fallowing any country for cropping.
Well, trying to look on the bright side…
…does anyone know of some good long-term forecasting sites? It would be awesome to at least see rain on someone’s forecast!!!
