Prince William truly is a man of our time. As a Search and Rescue Helicopter Pilot he has a perfect understanding of what the many victims of the recent natural disasters go through and provides a unique link between them and our oldest institution.

As always we get those self important republicans come out of the woodwork to criticize a royal visit as nothing but a clique trying to hold on to power privilege and public purse strings. Unfortunately for these squealers  Prince William and his Fiancée could easily go on to contented lives of self made wealth and happiness however he doesn't like is father, Grandmother and great Grandfather before him he accepts his duty to his people  and chooses a life of service.

Prince William on his walkabout of Australasia will reinvigorate people and lift their spirits giving these people on the edge of our built environment a sense of belong of not being forgoton in a way no politician can. He, as representative of the Queen embodies the spirit of the entire Commonwealth which in itself is extraordinary and changes the mood in the communities to one of optimism and opportunity.

I am an unabashed fan of the power of our Monarchy and am so happy that the Future King of Australia is such a fine human being.
