What a year it has been!! Without question for me it has been the most full on and taxing year I have experienced. It kicked off with me returning to run my lamb business which was in a pretty bad place financially we turned it around and grew the business making it to over 50 markets a month and pulling in a Swag of Medals and Awards and having customers that just lined up in their droves to get their hands on my delicious meat.
Each spare hour I have up in the Cape is spent listening to the elders stories and learning all I can about Bush life and Community Living.
Today was a journey into the bush to find Milk Wood for Carvings. I took a turn at smashin the Milk Wood... its aptly named as milk poured out and splashed all over me with each swing.
To engage the kids the Aurukun Partnerships Programme put on discos on Fridays and more often on the holidays...they are great, the whole family gets into it..with the favourite tracks lyrics being 'step aside M*&^er F#$^er' and the girls as young as 2 Byonce dancing it was hard to get used to...
