President Roosevelt's words, which resonate today from his 1930's lectern.President Roosevelt's first Inaugural address

I have lent on those words so heavily through my life...be it as a scared kid walking the 20kms home in the dark after the tractor I was on broke down without communications or a vehicle to drive, or climbing in the Himalayas without ropes, or just getting out of bed when suffering severe depression.

Now like all the citizens of the western world, I have to keep reminding myself to stop and breath...keep paddling my canoe...cause regardless if the stream dries up or floods, it's the best cause of action to at least stay in control of what you can.

As demand for premium meat has really cut back for us at our farmers markets, I do get pretty worried and my other projects are put on hold thanks to real concerns in consumer demand come next year. I wonder what the hell I can do to stay afloat.

So today I need to eat a little reality pie, so I am volunteering at the Smith Family to help pack hampers for the less fortunate, to keep it all in check.

At least I can eat, I can afford this internet connection, and I have the one great thing those poor beggars in Zimbabwe could dream of....freedom to be able to worry about what's happening in the world and the ability to look into the future and not be consumed just by getting clean water to get through the day.
