Finally we are having our big wet relief!!!

Must have been all that praying…Thanks to all of you who did so, but I have become such a sceptic as I age, methinks it’s more to do with ocean currents, sea temperature and land usage (umm, yeah, commonly known as a La Nina event…in Peru, Argentina and Chile they are experiencing a very dry past month), but I’ll never say stop the rain dancing, prayer, sending thoughts and positive energy transmission.

Problem with me is all this world travel and cultural understanding…people have been making up reasons why we have natural events since they could make up reasons, eg the Nazca Lines… Oh to be a naive farmboy once again…

Well, regardless of my thoughts on the matter, the river is in flood, my fields are sodden, the desilted dams are all full, Rowdy is covered in mud, the sheep and horses are all safely marooned on the red ridges and sand patches…and the grass is finally growing!!!!!

PhotobucketIt’s been a damn long time and I am so thankful…so let it keep raining and fill up the subsoil so the drought can be truly over for all of us.

A big shout out to victims of this flood….don’t panic, it’s called rain…you may have read about it in Wikipedia…it wets stuff. No, I’m sorry, jokes aside, I really hope the damage isn’t too great in your part of the world and you get through without too much pain…Good thing about most floods is they are over quickly, unlike droughts…that linger.

If you remember ‘Dancing with the Stars’, the Tree behind me was where Eliza taught me to dance…how things have changed from the inches of bull dust and roudy chewing on bleached bones…

And the dam above was one where we rescued several lambs each week…
